Introduction

I've observed it's customary to "christen" new blogs with an introductory post about the author. You, the reader, want to know what about me makes my blog worth reading. Meanwhile I, the author, get to yammer on about myself.

Like everyone else, I've been many things to many people. I've been a musician, writer, journalist, director, copy editor, editor-in-chief, photographer, internet personality, comedian, magician, and menial laborer. Of course, that and seventy-five cents will get you a cup of coffee from the vending machine by my office.

While I have been all those things, and I want to be many more, right now I'm a student of journalism at Saint Clair County Community College, as well as the Editor in Chief of the Erie Square Gazette.

In today's world of journalism, it's not enough to just be good at interviewing or writing. You need to be all those things I mentioned and then some. The "information age" is changing many career landscapes. This blog will serve as my "war journal," where I chronicle my attempts to exist within the changing landscape of postmodern journalism.

This blog will be not only a home for my latest offerings as a journalist, but behind-the-scenes stories, opinions, and whatever insights I feel I can offer.
